I Heart Faces Weekly Challenge~ Whimsy

This is my son and daughter playing “wedding” complete with daddy’s ring.  I love the lighting that adds to the magic of this childhood moment and the sweet love between brother and sister.  Head over to I Heart Faces to check out the other entries!

At the Farm

We spent Saturday morning at a dairy farm here in Wisconsin; I love her sweet smile here and the way the antique steering wheel on the tractor frames her face.

I Heart Faces Weekly Challenge: From a Distance

I just found the awesome photography website I Heart Faces and this is my first time participating in their weekly challenge.  This week’s theme is “From a Distance.”  I chose to enter this photo of my daughter, 2 years old, intently examining a dandelion in the field.

Storytelling

I absolutely adore this photo, for it captures my children for who they are at this time in their lives.  My daughter’s expression just makes me smile–she’s definitely up to something in that little head of hers.  And then there’s my son…always the inquisitive one, pulling on the vine, likely testing out a hypothesis about gravity and force.  I love the difference in the placement of their feet; my daughter, feeling out how her sparkly shoes (which she wears with anything and everything) move; my son, wide-stanced for better leverage as he tests his boyhood strength.

Siblings

These three recently had birthdays and needed some new portraits.  So we set off on an adventure to explore a part of the city.  They had a blast running up and down the streets, peering into shop windows, and making passer-bys smile.

Six year portrait

This shoot last summer was so fun.  Um, except for the mosquitos eating everyone alive. But didn’t she do great?    I’m looking forward to lots of photography in the near future, when it finally decides to warm up a bit here!
